IRONMAN 4X4 SUSPENSION FOR NEW TOYOTA HILUX
The NP300 Navara with coil-sprung rear end is a great vehicle, but the stock suspension is a trap for some tradies - especially when a flat tray is fitted in place of the factory tub. This builders truck was virtually sitting on the rear axle bumpstops - and that's just parked in our driveway!
If you own an NP300 Navara and carry heavy loads, are a tradie, or just need more rear end beef, Ironman 4x4 has the solution!
(above) The NP300 Navara with coil-sprung rear end is a great vehicle, but the stock suspension is a trap for some tradies - especially when a flat tray is fitted in place of the factory tub. This builders truck was virtually sitting on the rear axle bumpstops - and that's just parked in our driveway. See the image below.
(above) Check out the bumpstop gap here. You could not even get your pinky finger through it. This means that driving over a pebble or a small line in the road is enough make the suspension bottom out - sending all the impact back through the vehicle. Check out the polish marks on the metal striker plate that the bumpstop makes contact with. Now compare the size of the polish mark to the shape of the bumpstop. This vehicle has been hitting hard and that's just for city use!
(above) Here is the solution. Ironman 4x4 have rear heavy-duty coils and shocks that will maintain factory ride height and help restore lost ride and handling quality - without having to install a full suspension kit. The coils are available for either a constant 250-300kg range, or constant 500-600kg range. The shocks we recommend to match with them are the Ironman 40mm bore foam-cell units. These beefy shocks smooth the ride and provide the extra control that is needed on such an application.

(above) Check out the bumpstop gap now that the vehicle is now parked back on the ground. Scroll back up the page a bit to compare with the first image. The difference is immense!

TIPS FOR SELECTING THE BEST SPRINGS ON A UTE:
If the rear factory tub has been replaced with a steel flat tray, take into account the weight of the steel tray in your choice of new springs.
Also, if your vehicle is equipped with a flat tray (steel or allow), remember that any added weight has a mechanical advantage (exaggerated) effect on the springs. Basically, the further you move the same weight behind the axle creates a greater load effect on the springs due to the leverage.
