These 7-inch diameter lamps punch out a white light over a long distance, with a very practical wide spread. And the HID technology – using 35w globes – means much less drain on the battery, compared to the usual 100w type.

Our testing revealed that the performance of these Rugged Ridge lights is staggering. The road ahead, and the scenery to the side, is lit with an easy-on-the eyes white light that is almost like daylight.

But the true test comes when you switch off the HIDs. By comparison, the standard high-beam lights seem as though they are powered by wax candles!
