Meet Elvis Meet Elvis (Pop) Pirker: motor mechanic for 50 years, fisherman, outback traveler, shooter, parrot breeder, environmentalist, VB tester, and chauffeur to his soul-mate, Robyn. Elvis fitted his trusty Hilux with Rancho RS9000 shocks, and the optional in-cab system, way back in 1992. Since then he and Rob have been almost everywhere in Australia: Arnhem Land, the Kimberleys, Cape York, the Canning Stock Route and the Simpson. You name it and they have probably been there - more than once! When the Toyota got close to 400,000kms, Elvis decided to give the truck a full bare-metal restoration and make some of his own modifications, to ensure the next 400 grand were even more pleasant. However, while the shocks were still working perfectly, millions of little stones and specks of sand had removed most of the paint from the outer tubes.

Would we do him a deal on some of the latest RS9000X shocks? Sure we would. How could we resist getting hold of some of the most experienced Rancho shocks in the world!

I recently purchased a set of 40mm Adjustable's and a Heavy Duty steering Damper for my 2006 GU Patrol. My wife and I have just returned from a six week trip to Cape York. I just wanted to let you know how impressed I was with the Shocks, It didn't matter if I was on very badly corrugated roads or winding my way through the mountains on bitumen the shocks performed on every surface. Having the ability to adjust the shocks to suit the road conditions was simply unbelievable. We traveled from Bamaga to Weipa in one day, we started along the Old Telegraph Track heading South at 10AM and got into Weipa at around 10PM, The Tough Dogs didn't fade at all during the epic drive. I will be telling all my 4X4 buddies about the Tough Dog shocks, I consider them essential equipment when heading to the Cape. When traveling we met many people who constantly complained about the corrugations, my wife was continually telling them that "it wasn't that bad" so thank you Tough Dog for making it easy for us.

Regarding the RS9000XL's, they've arrived, they're installed, and so far they are bloody fantastic. For onroad I have settled on setting 6 at the front and 3 at the rear. Compared to the OME's, you just don't get the big shock when hitting big speed humps. Now I have to get them offroad. It's a pleasure doing business with you guys.

Thanks for your very prompt delivery of the 4WD stuff. It was for my husband’s birthday and he was thrilled to get it early. My husband is very proficient with 4WDs but has never owned one.

We have bought a Mitsubishi Pajero and are planning on eventually joining the gray brigade and traveling - so much easier to do when the kids have left home (and the grandson is too young). I was somewhat dubious about the chances of the damper being able to control the wild behavior of my truck, due to its 15” wide front tyres. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find the damper reduced the directional wanderings of my truck by about 95%.

How come you guys can get stuff to me so quick? A 4WD shop in Adelaide told me it would take them about a week to get what I wanted and then it would take a couple of days to get it up here. The Rancho 9000X's are fitted and I am now rolling on a 2" lift with some 31 Mickey T ATX's - those shocks are fantastic. The TJ no longer does a bum dance round corners nor goes nose down every time I brake. Going to City View 4x4 with the local Jeep fraternity end of month and can't wait to see what they are like off road. Great service as per usual!!
