5 Stars in Safety

The Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Tucson, Mercedes M-Class and Subaru Tribeca have all received a 5-star rating for front and side crash impact tests by the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The tests consisted of 44 2006 model vehicles including 16 passenger cars, 19 sport utility vehicles, 4 vans and 5 pick-ups. Results are rated between one and five stars.

No passenger cars or vans that were tested achieved the equivalent score of 5-stars.
